About the position

The Accounting Technician II position at Colorado State University (CSU) is a part-time role based in Granby, CO, focused on providing essential support to the Colorado State Forest Service Northwest Area. The role involves financial account monitoring, payment processing, procurement of supplies, and general administrative support to ensure effective operations within the department. The technician will assist in budget management, data management, and community outreach efforts, contributing to the mission of the CSFS to steward Colorado's forest environments.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Area Manager with annual budget requests, including forecasting revenues and expenses.
  • Provide budget analysis and account status as required by the Area Manager.
  • Assist in reconciling budget vs. actual expenses based on information from the State Office accounting team.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets for tracking program information.
  • Reallocate Pcard transactions for district staff using Kuali Financial System (KFS).
  • Access VistaPlus account reports to verify account transactions and rectify errors as needed.
  • Prepare invoices and submit customer payments to the State Office for deposit.
  • Prepare purchase orders and reimbursement requests using the correct CSFS forms.
  • Pay bills from vendors and track landowner grant fiscal information using spreadsheets.
  • Support the management of the Area's SharePoint site and assist with administrative documents and filing systems.
  • Maintain supply inventories and order supplies for Area staff as needed.
  • Coordinate janitorial and building upkeep for field offices in the Northwest Area.
  • Organize and manage Area all-employee meetings, providing logistical support.

Requirements

  • Two years of relevant experience in bookkeeping or accounting, or a combination of related education and experience equaling two years.
  • Strong accounting and financial knowledge and skills.
  • Administrative support experience.
  • Strong customer support skills.
