About the position

Solid Power is seeking an Accounts Payable Accountant to join their team, focusing on supporting all accounts payable activities. This role involves processing expense reports and invoices while ensuring compliance with SOX regulations. The position is hybrid, based in Thornton, CO, and requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills to manage high volumes of transactions effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Process a high volume of accounts payable transactions with a focus on SOX compliance.
  • Receive, review, code, and process expense reports and G&A invoices.
  • Handle operational vendor invoices and credit card transactions.
  • Set up and maintain vendor accounts, including outreach and statement reconciliation.
  • Contact vendors for ACH and banking confirmations.
  • Document and classify transactions for internal and tax reporting purposes.
  • Reconcile discrepancies in records and report findings.
  • Assist with month-end close activities.
  • Streamline accounts payable processes and refine documentation as needed.
  • Perform general office duties such as filing and handling routine correspondence.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (GED) required; Associate's Degree or some college preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
  • Proficiency in accounting software applications such as SAP and cloud-based bill pay.
  • Intermediate Excel skills, including familiarity with VLOOKUP and Pivot tables.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to learn new accounting systems and processes quickly.
  • Knowledge of sales and use tax calculations and monthly filings.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with process improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance standards.
