About the position
The Accounting Administrator at Nucor Steel Memphis is responsible for managing all aspects of accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and expense reports. This role involves inventory management, month-end close processes, and supporting the accounting department with various tasks. The position emphasizes safety and continuous improvement within the accounting function, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the team.
Responsibilities
- Perform all aspects of accounts payable including processing invoices and expense reports.
- Manage raw material inventory and reporting.
- Assist with month-end close processes and intercompany transactions.
- Conduct G/L coding and payment processing.
- Perform check runs as required.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects and cross-functional teams.
- Maintain proper audit controls and support internal and external audits.
- Provide support to the accounting department as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years' Accounts Payables experience.
- Proven knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- Strong analytical and quantitative analysis skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to comprehend and apply accounting principles.
- Proficient in data analysis and problem-solving.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet shifting financial deadlines.
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in a Business Related Field.
- Experience with an Accounts Payable system.
- Understanding of general ledger and month-end close processes.
- Experience with Sales & Use tax.
