About the position

The Accounts Receivable/Payable Representative at Crosstown Couriers is responsible for managing customer invoicing, payment collections, and vendor payment processing. This role requires a focus on exceptional customer service and accuracy in financial transactions, utilizing QuickBooks Online in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and send invoices to customers using the Transportation Management System and QuickBooks Online.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on overdue payments.
  • Process payments through various methods, including ACH, checks, and credit cards.
  • Reconcile payments and accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Communicate with customers to resolve billing discrepancies or answer payment-related inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer accounts in QuickBooks Online.
  • Prepare accounts receivable reports and provide updates to management on collections and outstanding balances.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes related to accounts receivable.
  • Collaborate with the team to improve collections processes and ensure timely payments.
  • Maintain accurate records of vendor accounts and accounts payable.
  • Provide excellent customer service, handling client inquiries with professionalism.
  • Assist with special projects and administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is essential.
  • Understanding of accounting principles and collections processes.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial reporting tools.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Experience in the logistics or courier industry is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prefer an Associate's Degree or higher in Accounting or Finance with at least 2 years of experience.
  • High school diploma with at least 4 years of experience.
