About the position

The Accounts Payable Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring smooth financial operations by processing and managing vendor invoices, payments, and reconciliations. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate records, verifying transactions, and supporting the Accounts Payable team in meeting deadlines and achieving departmental goals.

Responsibilities

• Works directly with vendors and internal departments to ensure all invoices are processed timely and accurately.
• Reviews invoices to ensure merchandise has been received and checks accuracy of services rendered/amount due, investigating and resolving all variances.
• Tracks all purchase orders and matches with corresponding invoices for payment, verifying prices on invoices against the price list provided by the Supply Chain Department.
• Enters vouchers and invoices into the accounts payable system and runs related reports.
• Resolves all variances and requests copies of any outstanding invoices.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field preferred.
• Minimum of three years accounts payable experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and AS400 (Infinium Software).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to stand/walk for long periods and lift up to 10 lbs.
