About the position

The Accounts Payable Clerk / Accounting Assistant plays a crucial role in the accounting department by ensuring accurate processing of invoices, managing vendor relationships, and maintaining financial records. This position requires attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting operations while supporting various administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Processing invoices to ensure payments are correct and on time.
  • Reconciling account transactions with the general ledger.
  • Establishing and maintaining vendor relationships.
  • Monitoring payroll expense claims, including salary advances and overtime payments.
  • Performing recordkeeping and preparing financial reports.
  • Answering queries from suppliers, contractors, and other business departments.
  • Keeping informed of regulatory requirements and best practices in accounting.
  • Assisting with project coordination and tracking.
  • Organizing company events and meetings.
  • Supporting HR processes like onboarding and employee records management.
  • Acting as a point of contact for clients, vendors, and employees.
  • Conducting research and managing office supplies.
  • Maintaining office equipment and ensuring a clean office environment.
  • Drafting and sending emails, letters, and other documents.
  • Organizing and maintaining digital filing systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or relevant work experience.
  • 1 year of experience in accounts payable or accounting roles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Adobe Professional.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and discretion.
