About the position

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for various accounting duties including posting memos, maintaining vendor files, reconciling accounts, and preparing payments. This role requires regular communication with vendors and a professional demeanor to foster business relationships. The position operates during standard business hours and involves both electronic and paper documentation management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily and disburse on-demand checks.
• Prepare Accounts Payable checks for multiple companies based on invoice due dates.
• Input invoices for all companies, including truck and service departments.
• Set up and maintain electronic and paper vendor files.
• File hard copy invoices and checks into vendor files.
• Reconcile vendor accounts payable statements monthly.
• Review expense reports for proper documentation and accounting.
• Complete credit applications for new vendors as requested.
• Provide copies of Sales Tax added to payables for State Returns monthly and quarterly.
• Prepare form 1099's for all companies annually.
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience working in an Accounts Payable role.
• Previous experience with intercompany transactions preferred.
• Previous experience with Accounting Software required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• High School Diploma, Associates Degree or some college preferred.
