About the position

We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The successful candidate will be part of an established team in the industry, handling a wide range of responsibilities related to accounts payable, from processing payments to managing vendor relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the payment cycle including processing, tracking, and reconciliation of payments and expenditures such as payroll, purchase orders, invoices, statements, checks, and refund requisitions.
  • Ensure invoices and receipts are approved, sorted, coded, and matched correctly.
  • Regularly review and verify billing statements, identifying and rectifying any discrepancies.
  • Develop and maintain a system to effectively track accounts payable.
  • Liaise with both internal and external clients to ensure efficient client service.
  • Monitor vendor payment agreements to identify opportunities for discounts that can be used to reduce invoice amounts.
  • Maintain a comprehensive filing system for all financial documents, ensuring confidentiality and security of all financial and employee files.
  • Perform administrative and clerical tasks as required.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis
  • Expertise in using accounting software such as Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP
  • Experience in accounts payable (AP) and account reconciliation
  • Ability to perform check runs and coding invoices with precision
  • Proficiency in data entry and invoice processing
  • Good understanding of financial regulations and procedures
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot numerical errors
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field is preferred.
