About the position

The Accounts Payable Coordinator at King Ocean is responsible for managing the accounts payable process across multiple entities, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and vendor payments. This role involves collaboration with foreign agents and requires strong organizational skills to maintain vendor relationships and assist with financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Post invoices into the accounting system across multiple entities - GDZ, Saga, and Quickbooks
  • Process broker commission on a weekly basis
  • Work closely with foreign agents to resolve ad hoc issues, such as intercompany balance and expenses
  • Reconcile vendor statements during the month-end process to ensure that all known invoices have been expended properly
  • Record/reconcile Amex credit card and Visa transactions for each entity
  • Perform several balance sheet reconciliations (intercompany, foreign bank reconciliations)
  • Participate in helping foreign agency budgets & forecasting
  • Create and maintain vendor relationships
  • Assist with cash receipts entry
  • Assist with ad hoc reports as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of Accounts Payable experience required, preferably in the steamship industry
  • Well organized and detail-oriented
  • Passion for excellence and attention to detail
