About the position

The Accounts Payable Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting Skyline Church by managing all aspects of accounts payable, including processing vendor payments, maintaining financial records, and ensuring compliance with internal controls. This position requires a proactive individual who embodies the church's core values and is committed to maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in financial matters.

Responsibilities

  • Process all vendor payments, including entering bills and payments, and issuing checks.
  • Train employees and new hires on payment request processes across all campuses.
  • Review purchase request forms for completeness and accuracy according to internal controls.
  • Follow up on discrepancies as needed and resolve vendor discrepancies and payment status requests.
  • Maintain files on purchase orders, unpaid and paid bills, and records of recurring bills.
  • Manage contracts for financial accuracy and completion.
  • Reconcile finance petty cash funds and monitor funds in other departments.
  • Reconcile all aspects of accounts payable, including monthly credit card statements, prepaids, and accruals.
  • Assist with department financials by reviewing, compiling, and customizing reports.
  • Establish vendor relationships and obtain necessary W9s for vendor profiles.
  • Prepare and file annual 1099s and assist with year-end audits.
  • Assist with weekly deposit preparation and generate monthly department financials.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of accounts payable experience.
  • Knowledge of general accounts payable practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Google Docs, and Adobe.
  • Strong mathematical skills as needed for the position.
  • Ability to multitask effectively and pay strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and changes in procedures.
