About the position

The Accounts Payable/Human Resources Administrator will assist the Office Manager in managing the financial and human resources functions of a wholesale/retail nursery, landscaping, and maintenance departments. This role involves handling accounts payable, payroll management, and various administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations within the office.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Office Manager with specific duties of wholesale/retail nursery, landscaping, and maintenance departments.
  • Responsible for all aspects of Accounts Payable.
  • Reconcile invoices with purchase orders.
  • Welcome and greet visitors and customers.
  • Utilize QuickBooks for invoice entry.
  • Balance cash register daily and handle cash.
  • Accept applications from potential employees and forward them to the Finance Director for background checks.
  • File AP invoices after payment as needed.
  • Assist the finance director as needed.
  • Maintain sales tax log and sales tax exemption log and forms.
  • Maintain office equipment, including scheduling routine service calls.
  • Order supplies for the office and nursery as needed.
  • Scan bills into the accounting system.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or human resources administration.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, and Workday.
  • Knowledge of financial concepts, double entry bookkeeping, and GAAP.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with payroll management and benefits administration.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
