About the position

The Accounts Payable Manager at Waterfield Tech is responsible for leading and optimizing the accounts payable department, ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and employee expense reports. This strategic role involves maintaining strong vendor relationships, driving process improvements, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulations. The manager will also focus on automating parts of the accounts payable process to enhance efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of accounts payable professionals.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and employee expense reports.
  • Ensure proper invoice coding and compliance with company policies.
  • Resolve discrepancies and disputes with vendors promptly.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, addressing inquiries and resolving concerns.
  • Negotiate favorable payment terms with vendors to optimize cash flow.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve accounts payable processes for efficiency.
  • Ensure strict adherence to company financial policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes by reconciling accounts payable balances.
  • Generate and analyze accounts payable reports to track spending patterns and provide insights to management.
  • Collaborate with procurement, finance, and other departments for seamless processing of transactions.
  • Prepare documentation for internal and external audits related to accounts payable activities.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Manager or in a similar role.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software, particularly Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in managing high transaction volumes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of effective solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for professional interactions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
  • Experience with process improvement initiatives and automation solutions.
  • Solid understanding of accounting regulations and compliance standards.
