About the position

The Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist at Brown Builders, Inc. is responsible for managing payroll and accounts payable functions within a prominent Louisiana general contracting firm. This full-time position requires a detail-oriented individual with at least 5 years of experience in accounts payable and payroll, preferably within the construction industry. The role involves processing payroll, maintaining employee records, and ensuring timely payment of invoices and taxes, while also assisting with HR duties.

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly payroll
  • Maintain employee records
  • Assist in HR duties including health insurance enrollments and HRA maintenance
  • Filing and payment of all related payroll taxes
  • Process all accounts payable invoices timely and accurately
  • Ensure bills are paid timely
  • Ensure related requirements for subcontracts and purchase orders are met, including certified payroll and waivers
  • Maintain vendor files and cost-certified job files
  • Filing and payment of all related sales taxes

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of accounts payable and payroll experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience with accounting software in a paperless environment
  • Experience with Sage products is a plus
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to identify internal and external customers to ensure their needs are met
