About the position

As the Accounts Payable Payroll Specialist, your duties will include managing the company's full cycle accounts payable and weekly payroll processes. This role plays a critical role in our accounting department to deliver accurate and timely results for our employees, vendors, and management.

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly payroll on a weekly basis
  • Ensure that pay rates, deductions, and benefit records are accurately processed and posted to the general ledger
  • Maintains working knowledge of active projects and communicates with operations to ensure accurate posting of expenses across projects and departments
  • Confirms that disbursements of company funds are for valid services performed
  • Ensures timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices
  • Monitors vendor statements to ensure payments are up-to-date
  • Reconciles open invoice reports to GL balance
  • Monitors checks to be voided or stopped
  • Assists in developing accruals for financial statement close
  • Prepares weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports as requested
  • Additional related tasks as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years' experience in payroll or accounts payable role
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with 3rd party payroll service (e.g., Dominion Payroll) a plus
  • Experience with Foundation Software or other construction-based accounting software a plus
