About the position

Elite Contracting Solutions is a design-focused general contractor based in Baltimore City, specializing in both commercial properties and private homeowners, while also managing a substantial Property Maintenance portfolio. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Accounts Payable/Receivable Specialist to join our team. This position is crucial for managing the financial transactions of the company on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will possess intermediate-level experience in Accounts Payable and Receivable, with a strong understanding of the construction industry and high-level thinking skills. In this role, the selected candidate will assist the Financial/Office Manager with all bookkeeping-related tasks, which include invoice resolution, sorting out payment discrepancies, and performing general administrative office tasks. The candidate must be a team player with excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task effectively. This is a full-time salaried position based on-site in our Baltimore office, and the compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily financial transactions related to accounts payable and receivable.
  • Assist the Financial/Office Manager with bookkeeping tasks.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues.
  • Perform general administrative office tasks as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve financial processes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience (3-5 years) in accounts receivable or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
  • Proficiency in using QuickBooks (minimum 2 years).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial transactions.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Ability to identify and participate in process improvement initiatives.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field appreciated but not required.
