About the position

The Accounts Payable Specialist position at Security Engineers involves managing the accounts payable process using accounting software. The specialist will be responsible for recording, organizing, and processing due invoices for payment, ensuring that all bills and payroll are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures. This role requires verifying invoices for accuracy and completeness, as well as reconciling daily batches. The specialist will also assist the finance team in the monthly close process and balance sheet reconciliations, contributing to improvements in the financial close process to produce high-quality monthly financial statements. Additionally, the specialist will assist in the preparation of daily and weekly reports used by the executive team and support the department with other tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts payable using accounting software.
  • Record, organize and process due invoices for payment.
  • Verify invoices for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure bills and payroll are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures.
  • Reconcile daily batches.
  • Assist the finance team in monthly close and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Contribute to improvements in the financial close process allowing the team to produce extremely high quality monthly financial statements.
  • Assist in preparation of daily and weekly reports used by executive team.
  • Assist the department in other tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of accounting experience or associate's degree in business or accounting.
  • Proficient in Excel, Outlook, and PDFs.
  • Ability to produce numerous financial reports and statements in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Excellent planning, observation, and organization skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and think analytically.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently and collaboratively with others.
  • Must be able to multi-task and be detail oriented.
  • Ability to be flexible and exhibit a positive attitude towards change and improvement.
