About the position
The Accounts Payable Administrator plays a crucial role in managing accounts payable activities, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing support across various departments. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can analyze, verify, and reconcile accounts payable records while leveraging automated financial systems.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and reconcile accounts payable records, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
- Coordinate with departments to ensure proper record-keeping and secure data management.
- Review and finalize vendor close-out packages, ensuring compliance with payment procedures.
- Provide technical advice and participate in the analysis of accounts payable activities.
- Adhere to PHA and HUD guidelines for all vendor and supplier payments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years in financial management or analysis, with experience in government housing programs preferred.
- Proficiency in interpreting Federal and state accounting rules and PHA policies.
- Experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for public sector financial management.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to interact with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Competence in standard and specialized software for financial management and record-keeping.
