About the position

The Accounts Payable Specialist at Cerium Networks is responsible for managing the accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial transactions. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a focus on process improvement to enhance the efficiency of accounting functions.

Responsibilities

  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
  • Print and obtain signatures on all accounts payable checks.
  • Distribute signed checks as required.
  • Research discrepancies with vendors and departments.
  • Maintain all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets, and accounts payable files.
  • Enter all invoices into the accounting system and ensure accurate general ledger coding.
  • Assist with the monthly close process.
  • Serve as administrator of the travel and expense system.
  • Audit, review, and process travel and expense reports for employees.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • AA or Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance strongly preferred.
  • 2+ years related work experience in accounting.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Must be detail-oriented with an eye for accuracy.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to communicate positively and effectively with customers and fellow employees.
  • Be flexible and willing to adapt to changing needs and priorities.
  • Must be a team player and willing to assist other team members.
