About the position

The Accounts Receivable Accountant position at Talis Group Inc. is a full-time role focused on ensuring accurate financial processes and reports within a dynamic company in the transportation and construction industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing accounts receivable, assisting with payroll, and supporting job costing efforts. This role requires collaboration with various departments and is crucial for maintaining the financial integrity of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Process all accounts receivable invoices for contract, milestone, and Time & Material jobs.
• Submit invoices to various customer websites for payment.
• Create monthly intercompany accounts receivable invoices.
• Manage accounts payable invoices and payments.
• Provide backup support for biweekly payroll using ADP Workforce Now for over 100 employees.
• Perform job costing to break down costs for labor hours, materials, and overhead.
• Import and create journal entries into Sage Intacct.
• Reconcile monthly benefits expenses, including medical and 401(k).
• Handle ACHs, wires, and daily banking activities.
• Participate in the annual 401(k) audit.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance preferred.
• 2+ years of recent, progressive accounting experience required.
• Experience in manufacturing, logistics, construction, or similar industry preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is required.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize workload, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with other departments.
• Experience with Sage Intacct software and ADP Workforce Now is preferred.
