About the position

The Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable Manager at Marc Realty is responsible for overseeing the clerical staff, ensuring timely and accurate financial transactions while adhering to strict internal control policies. This role involves maintaining leasing data in accounting software, providing support to the accounting department, and managing various bookkeeping tasks. The position offers opportunities for growth in accounting and finance.

Responsibilities

  • Train, review, mentor, and assist clerical staff, develop portfolio assignments.
  • Prepare and deliver performance evaluations as needed and annually.
  • Develop and document policies and procedures regarding AP and AR and provide training to accounting and property management departments.
  • Review AP data entry regarding vendor invoices and payments and backup AP staff.
  • Monitor cash balances, ensure proper approvals and generate vendor payments.
  • Process new vendors.
  • Coordinate and supervise the 1099 process annually.
  • Review AR data entry regarding tenant leases, monthly rent charges, tenant rent rolls, and tenant rent payment applications.
  • Work with leasing, property management, and collections staff to record tenant relocations, terminations and tenant account write offs.
  • Bookkeeping and ad hoc projects with opportunity to contribute to treasury, property accounting or analysis.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years property accounting experience with an emphasis in AP and AR.
  • Intermediate Excel skills and ERP Experience preferred.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct and/or Avid Exchange is a plus.
