About the position

We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and excellent attention to detail. This part-time position is crucial for facilitating the management of daily banking activities and account reconciliations, as well as performing a variety of accounting and bookkeeping duties according to established policies and procedures. The role requires a proactive approach to ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled in a timely manner. In this position, you will be responsible for tracking and posting all customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions. You will assist with monthly statements to invoice customers promptly and reconcile daily cash while preparing daily bank deposits. Additionally, you will reconcile daily and monthly bank card transactions to the general ledger and credit card processor funding, ensuring that all discrepancies are researched and resolved efficiently. You will also be the point of contact for customer account inquiries, opening mail daily and delivering it to the correct person as needed. Other responsibilities include preparing paperwork for storage, performing filing and copying tasks, and executing other duties as assigned. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced office environment.

Responsibilities

  • Track and post all customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions
  • Assist with monthly statements to invoice customers in a timely manner
  • Reconcile daily cash and prepare daily bank deposits
  • Reconcile daily and monthly bank card transactions to general ledger and credit card processor funding
  • Research any cash discrepancies
  • Answer all customer account inquiries
  • Open mail daily and deliver to the correct person if needed
  • Prepare paperwork for storage
  • Perform filing and copying
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Strong background in accounting principles
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel (1 year preferred)
  • Ability to relocate to Deer Park, NY 11729 before starting work
