About the position

The Accounts Receivable Analyst will be a key member of the accounting/finance team at a growing privately-held company in Laurel, MD. This role focuses on managing accounts receivable and collections processes, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining accurate financial records. Responsibilities

• Manage the accounts receivable and collections processes.
• Monitor and maintain outstanding balances using collections experience.
• Engage in effective communication with clients to ensure timely payments and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Utilize analytical skills to assess and resolve payment issues.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities.
• Research and process customer claims of invoice payment.
• Research and process charge backs, returns, and NSF items.
• Answer AR phone/email inquiries and follow up as needed.
• Provide guidance to the cash applications team for proper application of customer payments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree preferred, but relevant work experience is acceptable.
• 3+ years of demonstrated experience in collections and accounts receivable.
• In-depth knowledge of collections best practices and compliance.
• Experience with Oracle NetSuite software is highly preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills are required.
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills for effective client communication.
• Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
