About the position

The position involves monitoring and analyzing customer accounts within a high-volume portfolio, focusing on credit risk management and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The role requires effective communication with various departments to manage accounts receivable and mitigate financial risks while supporting the company's sustainability mission.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and track the daily analysis of customer accounts for a high-volume portfolio.
  • Perform analysis of customer accounts based on purchases, payment history, credit worthiness, and corporate business strategy.
  • Track and evaluate past due A/R accounts to reduce credit exposure risk.
  • Evaluate credit worthiness of accounts and determine proper credit holds or releases.
  • Research cash application matters on customer accounts.
  • Evaluate aged items for bad debt write off and refund analysis recommendations.
  • Identify offsetting adjustments to ensure accurate customer account balances.
  • Contact customers to secure payment on overdue balances and resolve open items.
  • Provide guidance to Sales and Operations Managers, Logistics, and Distribution Operations regarding order releases for accounts with aged receivables.
  • Maintain strong cross-functional communication regarding account risks, credit concerns, disputes, and customer comments.
  • Track customer deductions and short-pay issues through resolution.
  • Initiate credit memos when appropriate, following SOP business rules.
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP, SOX, and company policies in AR operations.
  • Support monthly audits of deductions, payments, and write-offs.
  • Prepare accounts for placement with collection agencies or third-party activity.
  • Manage assigned portfolio to reduce exposure and mitigate risk.
  • Negotiate and structure payment plans for review and approvals.
  • Recommend write-offs for uncollectable invoices and disputed balances.

Requirements

  • Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge or experience in business-to-business with ERPs such as Solomon, Oracle, SAP, QAD, etc.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills due to high volume customer interaction.
  • Experience or understanding of Cash Application research and analysis.
  • Experience working with cross-functional groups and different levels of employees.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and SOX requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint with intermediate to advanced skills.
  • Knowledge of standard and specialized credit and collection procedures.
  • Strong financial and accounting analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
