About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Accounts Receivable and Collections Manager to join our dynamic Revenue Accounting team at Anthropic. In this critical role, you will be responsible for creating and executing effective, streamlined credit and collections policies that enhance efficiency in daily operations and month-end close processes. You will evolve reporting and metrics to drive insights and lead project-based initiatives that enable business scale. This position is essential for ensuring that our accounts receivable processes are efficient and effective, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. As the Accounts Receivable and Collections Manager, you will spearhead daily AR operations, which include streamlining payment applications, managing billing inquiries, and executing strategic collection outreach. You will develop and implement robust metrics to track and report key AR and collections KPIs to internal stakeholders. Additionally, you will create and implement a credit check process for new customer applications and establish a collection strategy and dunning process, which includes appropriate reminders, collections, and deactivations. You will also manage AR-related month-end close procedures, which encompass comprehensive cash and AR reconciliations, in-depth AR aging analysis, and thorough bad debt assessments with write-off recommendations. Leading the evaluation of AR system needs, orchestrating RFP processes, and overseeing implementations will be part of your responsibilities. Furthermore, you will pioneer process improvements and automation initiatives to maximize operational efficiency and establish strong cross-functional relationships with Sales, Legal, Finance, and other key stakeholders as a strategic business partner. Serving as a key liaison during financial audits, you will ensure compliance and effective control in the AR and Collection area.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Have a minimum 7 years of progressive experience in AR, Collections, and related accounting practices, ideally in a high-growth tech company
  • Have 3+ years of management and leadership experience
  • Have a deep understanding of AR-related accounting principles, GAAP standards, and financial operations best practices
  • Have exceptional attention to detail with ability to analyze complex datasets
  • Have outstanding communication skills; proven track record of engaging stakeholders and clients effectively
  • Have strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Have proficiency in Excel; experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, and Stripe
