About the position

The Accounts Receivable Clerk/Office Assistant is responsible for managing the company's incoming payments and ensuring timely collection of invoices. This role involves various office duties, including customer interaction and support to the Office Manager, while maintaining accurate financial records and customer files.

Responsibilities

  • Managing invoices by preparing and matching payments to invoices, researching discrepancies, and applying payments and credits to store accounts.
  • Collecting payments, tracking payments, making bank deposits, and contacting customers about overdue accounts.
  • Maintaining customer relationships by responding to inquiries, resolving payment disputes, and addressing concerns.
  • Performing office duties such as answering incoming phone calls and directing customers as needed.
  • Assisting the Office Manager with daily duties and generating reports on profits and losses.
  • Reconciling accounts receivable and assisting with reconciling revenue accounts on a regular basis.
  • Updating customer files, including name or address changes.
