About the position

The Accounts Receivable Clerk at Ballard Truck Center is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of accounts receivable, ensuring accurate and timely processing of customer payments, and maintaining customer account information. This role is essential in supporting the financial operations of the company and enhancing customer satisfaction through effective communication and service.

Responsibilities

• Applying customer payments to their accounts in an accurate and timely manner
• Preparing and posting multiple daily deposits
• Assisting customers with inquiries on their accounts
• Collecting payments from customers
• Updating customer accounts with new information, such as address/contact changes
• Communicating any discrepancies or issues to the appropriate internal contact
• Working with Credit/Collections on opening new customer accounts, payments, and other AR issues
• Opening new accounts and informing customers of new account status
• Sending out monthly account statements by mail, fax, and email
• Backing up the Receptionist with incoming phone calls and directing them to the appropriate person/department or answering their questions if able
• Providing accounting and clerical assistance to other people in the accounting department as needed
• Completing various duties and projects as assigned
• Following all established standards, procedures and applicable laws

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 1-2 years in a relevant position performing Accounts Receivable duties
• Understanding and familiarity with office and accounting procedures
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong organization and time management
• Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
