About the position

We are in search of an Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team in the non-profit sector, based in WILLIAMSVILLE, New York. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity and involves the management of customer credit applications, maintaining customer records, and resolving inquiries. You will also be tasked with monitoring customer accounts and undertaking appropriate action. The position requires a proactive approach to managing accounts receivable processes and ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts receivable and billing procedures, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high ethical standards in financial management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing the agency's fleet fuel account
  • Oversee the agency's fleet maintenance account
  • Handle the updating of the agency's fleet database
  • Manage motor vehicle accident claims and repairs
  • Assist in monitoring vendor performance and negotiating pricing
  • Perform data entry and management tasks
  • Comply with all agency policies and procedures
  • Carry out administrative tasks as assigned
  • Manage communication to sites and tracking completion regarding preventative vehicle maintenance and vehicle recalls
  • Assist the Purchasing AVP and Director with Fleet Management.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR) and Account Reconciliation
  • Experience in Billing procedures and Cash Applications
  • Knowledge of SAP software for financial management
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare financial reports
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proven experience in a similar role within a non-profit organization
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
