About the position

The Accounts Receivable Clerk position is a full-time, temporary role located at 10551 Paramount Boulevard, Downey, CA 90241. This position is integral to the Accounting department, focusing on managing the accounts receivable for residential and Homeowners Association (HOA) accounts. The clerk will be responsible for ensuring that all rent payments are accurately identified, recorded, and deposited into the appropriate bank accounts within three business days. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with the management team to resolve various collection issues. The clerk will handle a significant volume of inbound and outbound calls from delinquent customers, providing assistance and resolving their requests. Responsibilities also include processing move-ins and move-outs, managing evictions, preparing monthly HOA and commercial statements, and reconciling HOA bank accounts. The clerk will also be tasked with preparing year-end financial statements and owner financials for residential accounts, as well as maintaining accurate accounting files and a daily balance register. The position requires proficiency in specific software, including AppFolio and Impress, and the use of various office equipment such as computers, copy machines, scanners, and remote bank deposit check scanners. The ideal candidate will possess strong data entry skills, be detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment while meeting strict deadlines. Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are essential, along with the ability to maintain confidentiality regarding work-related information.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team relating to resolution of various collection issues.
  • Ensuring that all rent monies taken are properly identified, recorded and deposited in system and appropriate bank accounts within three (3) business days.
  • Enter data into computer system using defined computer programs.
  • Work directly with company's management team on related accounts matters.
  • Field a high volume of outbound and inbound delinquent customer calls with the objective of providing assistance to their requests.
  • Processes Move IN/OUT's, and evictions.
  • Prepares monthly HOA and commercial statements.
  • Prepare HOA budgets.
  • Prepare year-end financial statements.
  • Prepares owner financials (Residential).
  • Reconciling HOA bank accounts and HOA demands.
  • Processes late fees (Residential/Commercial).
  • Maintains accurate accounting files.
  • Maintain daily balance register.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
  • Some accounting experience.
  • Ability to meet Department goals and timelines.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Application and intermediate knowledge of office practices and procedures in accounting.
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Must maintain confidentiality of work-related information and materials.
  • Must possess excellent data entry skills.
  • Must be detail oriented but also be able to work in a fast-paced environment (HIGH volume).
  • Must have excellent oral communication skills and the ability to answer a multiple line phone system.
  • Must be able to work well with others and meet strict deadlines.
