About the position

The Accounts Receivable Clerk at Elite Anesthesia Associates is responsible for managing the accounts receivable cycle, ensuring timely invoicing and payment collection, and assisting with medical billing processes. This role is crucial for maintaining positive cash flow and accurate financial reporting within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Generate customer invoices and communicate outstanding balances with customers and patients.
  • Post payments accurately, including customer, patient, and insurance payments.
  • Perform follow-ups on unpaid invoices through phone, email, or online portals.
  • Monitor and manage the aging of accounts receivable.
  • Process adjustments, refunds, and write-offs in compliance with company policies.
  • Assist medical insurance billing partner with claims for medical services to insurance payers.
  • Verify claims for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with payer requirements.
  • Resolve claim denials and appeals in a timely manner.
  • Generate and review AR reports to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
  • Track collection percentages and collaborate with team members to improve overall revenue cycle performance.
  • Work closely with customers, providers, payers, and internal teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, payer policies, and state/federal regulations.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable or revenue cycle management.
  • Familiarity with medical billing, including Medicaid/Medicare credentialing and claims submission is preferred.
  • Demonstrate a go-getter attitude with confidence in written and verbal communications.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity using QuickBooks Online accounting software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive products.
  • Understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes to assist medical billing.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field preferred.
  • Certification in medical billing or coding is a plus.
