About the position

The Shipping Clerk plays a crucial role in the warehouse operations, ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurately packaged, labeled, and dispatched in a timely manner. This position involves various responsibilities related to shipping and receiving, including inventory management, documentation, and compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders for accuracy in items and quantities.
  • Inspect incoming shipments for damage and report any issues to the Warehouse Manager before signing for them.
  • Record inbound shipment data, including weight and box size, and attach packing lists to purchase orders as per Acumatica work instructions.
  • Stock incoming inventory in designated locations within the warehouse system.
  • Prepare documentation for the shipment of materials, parts, and finished goods.
  • Check pick lists against customer purchase orders for accuracy before shipping.
  • Record outbound shipment data, including country of origin and expiration dates, on the pick list.
  • Follow customer and industry packaging requirements to prevent shipping damage.
  • Sign out will-call customers and manage their pick lists for accounting purposes.
  • Identify and report inventory discrepancies to the Warehouse Manager.
  • Pack, label, and forward shipments to Quality for final inspection before dispatch.
  • Report safety concerns to the Warehouse Manager.
  • Maintain a clean work area and adhere to 5S standards.
  • Operate machinery such as scales, scanners, pallet jacks, and forklifts to manage products.
  • Prepare and confirm pick lists according to shipping instructions.
  • Determine LTL shipping methods based on knowledge of procedures and rates.
  • Contact carriers to arrange outbound shipping and delivery instructions.
  • Store shipping materials and maintain inventory of supplies.
  • Order replacement shipping supplies as needed.
  • Participate in annual inventory or cycle counts as directed by the Warehouse Manager.
  • Understand and label products according to shelf-life requirements.
  • Perform all shipping and receiving functions as required.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Preferred: High School diploma or GED with one year of related experience.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate packaging and documentation of shipments.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Windows-based applications.

Benefits

  • Hourly wage of $17.50 - $18.00.
