About the position

The Accounts Receivable Clerk at Koontz Bryant Johnson Williams (KBJW) is responsible for managing all accounts receivable administrative functions, including contract review, billing, and collection of overdue accounts. This role is essential in ensuring accurate financial records and effective communication with clients and internal teams. Responsibilities

  • Researches and inputs cash receipts data into the computer and verifies by comparison to the bank deposit on a daily basis.
  • Communicates with billing managers monthly to facilitate invoice production.
  • Processes, prints, and sends invoices and statements to clients monthly.
  • Assists the AR Manager and department heads in interpreting and resolving accounts receivable problems with clients.
  • Maintains accurate customer files; keeps track of name changes, mergers, address changes, and mailing attentions.
  • Reviews account histories with customers, posting payments, credit memos, and adjusts as needed.
  • Reconciles various builder-type client portals to company accounting software.
  • Checks time sheets for proper overtime entry, vacation, and sick balances.
  • Alerts management about missing time sheets and makes labor adjustments as required.
  • Assists with telephone reception and special projects, as necessary.

Requirements

  • Associate degree (A. A.) from two-year college or technical school or equivalent experience.
  • 2-4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent PC skills, including Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, & PowerPoint).
  • Strong work ethic and good attention to detail.
  • Ability to accurately follow instructions and multi-task.
  • Effective communication skills and excellent people skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in accounts receivable or related financial roles.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and builder-type client portals.
