About the position

The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for managing customer payments and maintaining accurate records of customer accounts. This role involves entering payments, researching discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with credit laws. The clerk will handle a high volume of accounts and work closely with sales and other departments to resolve disputes and maintain customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Enter customer payments into the accounting system (Sapphire).
• Research and reconcile discrepancies and credits on customer accounts.
• Update and maintain customer account portfolios, including contact information and account status notes.
• Perform collection procedures as outlined in standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Follow up on accounts for compliance with Nevada credit law and SOPs.
• Process cash applications through various payment methods, including checks, EFT, and online bill pay.
• Distribute monthly statements to customers.
• Collaborate with sales and other departments to handle disputes on accounts.
• Maintain an account portfolio of 1,000 accounts with accurate notes and terms.
• Respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner.

Requirements

• 1 year of recent accounts receivable experience required.
• Familiarity with accounting software, specifically PeopleSoft.
