About the position

The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in routine accounts receivable functions. This role involves processing payments, managing invoices, and assisting other areas of the Accounting Department to maintain financial accuracy and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Deposit accounts receivable daily check payments received via mail
• Post and process 90% of payments into AS400 accounting system
• Process online invoices for customers
• Count and verify cash and invoices on scheduled days and prepare for deposit
• Input weekly prices into AS400 accounting system
• Process market monthly promotions and generate report for remittance
• Calculate commissions based on monthly promotions and forward to Sales and Payroll
• Review vendor invoices and notify AR Supervisor of discrepancies
• Respond to incoming invoice copy requests and email inquiries
• Reconciliation of accounts
• Perform additional accounting duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred
• Minimum of three years of billing, accounts receivable, and collections experience
• Proficiency in data entry with 10-key by touch
• Basic computational ability
• Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and email functions
