About the position

The Accounts Receivable Clerk at The London West Hollywood is responsible for managing guest billing processes, ensuring timely collection of payments, and maintaining accurate financial records in accordance with hotel policies. This role requires a service-oriented approach to interactions with guests and team members, as well as effective communication and organizational skills to handle various credit-related activities and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper review and timely processing of all guest billing and collections.
  • Assist in establishing customer credit, including application processes and reference checks.
  • Provide customers with accurate and timely invoices, statements, and schedules.
  • Respond effectively to customer inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Communicate issues or disputes to operating departments and supervisors.
  • Maintain an efficient collection process, including organized filing and tracing systems.
  • Issue demand letters and monitor returned checks and chargebacks.
  • Perform collection calls and prepare bad debt write-offs.
  • Monitor guest ledger and advance deposit ledger for internal control.
  • Implement credit training in operating departments regarding payment acceptance and limits.
  • Prepare financial reports, including month-end aging reports and weekly transmissions to the Corporate Office.
  • Attend and contribute to periodic meetings to improve team morale and productivity.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field required.
  • 1-3 years of Accounts Receivable experience required.
  • Working knowledge of Opera, Excel, Word, and Delphi.

Nice-to-haves

  • College course work in a related field helpful.
