About the position

The Accounts Receivable Clerk will play a crucial role in managing the financial transactions of a family-owned service business specializing in plumbing, heating, cooling, and electrical services. This position focuses on maintaining positive customer relationships through friendly collection practices while ensuring accurate financial record-keeping and support for various administrative tasks within the team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and send out statements of account to customers.
• Manage the aging report to track overdue payments.
• Conduct friendly, professional collection calls to resolve payment issues.
• Accurately post customer payments into the accounting system.
• Perform general filing and organization of financial documents.
• Collaborate with other team members to support additional administrative tasks as needed.
• Assist in cross-functional roles when necessary to support the team, including helping with special projects or other departments.

Requirements

• Prior experience in accounts receivable or a similar role.
• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate financial records.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle collection calls in a friendly, professional manner.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Team-oriented attitude, with a willingness to support other areas of the business when needed.
