About the position

The Stow Company is currently seeking qualified candidates for an Accounts Receivable Clerk located in Holland, MI. We are the country's online premier source for custom closets and organizational solutions; designed, custom-cut, and shipped to our clients the next business day from our world-class manufacturing facility in Holland, MI. The primary purpose of the Accounts Receivable Clerk is to perform accounts receivable operations while safeguarding company assets. This position will also involve an active review of customer accounts to maintain effective cash flow and satisfactory collection efforts. This is a full-time position based at our corporate headquarters in downtown Holland, Michigan. The Accounts Receivable Clerk will be responsible for a variety of essential functions and responsibilities. These include performing daily invoicing and printing, processing daily credit card payments for customers, and resolving any decline issues with customers in a timely manner. The role also involves scheduling customer payments on a same-day, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis, as well as sending daily customer payment notifications and processing daily credit memos. The clerk will prepare manual invoices as needed, process weekly statements, and compile data for any adjustments needed to accounts receivable open items. Additionally, the clerk will conduct AR aging reviews and account clean-ups, complete monthly commissions, and manage RTV recording, tracking, and filing of claims. Customer service is a critical aspect of this role, as the Accounts Receivable Clerk will provide the highest level of customer service regarding collection and customer account issues. This includes responding to customer requests in a timely manner, resolving customer issues, processing refunds, and reviewing payment discrepancies and account adjustments. Effective communication with sales and customer service teams is essential, as well as aiding in year-end closing by preparing reports for Accounts Receivable related accounts. The clerk will also be expected to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with dealers and sales, embodying the company values on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily invoicing and printing.
  • Process daily credit card payments for customers and resolve any decline issues with customers timely.

  • Communicate effectively with sales and customer service as needed.
  • Aid and complete year-end closing by preparing reports for Accounts Receivable related accounts.
  • Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with dealers and sales.

Requirements

  • Three years minimum of high-volume corporate AR experience.
  • ERP and Excel experience.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Working knowledge of billing and cash application procedures.
  • Understanding of accounting practices.
  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively with individuals both internally and externally.
  • Excellent customer service skills, including strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of personnel in an office and a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to take the initiative and work well independently with little supervision, and as part of a team.
