About the position

The Accounts Receivable Clerk position at Robert Half in Rosedale, Maryland, is a contract-to-hire role focused on processing customer payments, maintaining records, and managing customer accounts. This on-site position requires collaboration with various teams to ensure accurate account management and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Accurately post customer payments in a timely manner
• Research, identify, and reconcile account discrepancies
• Maintain detailed notes of all communication related to accounts within the designated system
• Collaborate closely with various teams including sales, warehouse, customer service, and National Call Center to collect outstanding balances and resolve any discrepancies
• Effectively handle a high volume of customer and driver calls, ensuring excellent customer service
• Use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for various tasks
• Scan payments into the bank and monitor customer accounts for changes
• Escalate any unresolved issues or concerns to the Accounts Receivable Manager
• Work independently without supervision and as part of a team as needed
• Maintain good working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook
• Experience in Accounts Receivable (AR) and payment processing
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Knowledge of sales processes and retail industry
• Ability to supervise, manage customer accounts and resolve account discrepancies
• Competence in research analysis and the ability to resolve discrepancies
• Experience in a call center or similar customer-focused role
• Ability to work onsite
• Proficiency in using templates for routine and repetitive tasks
• Experience in scanning and handling financial notes
• Knowledge of video conferencing tools for communication
• Proven ability to collect outstanding accounts
• Capability to work with multiple retailers and manage their accounts efficiently.
