About the position
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely billing processes. This role is essential in supporting the overall financial health of the organization and requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Process and record all incoming payments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Prepare and send invoices to clients, ensuring all billing information is correct.
- Monitor accounts for overdue payments and follow up with clients as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of transactions, including journal entries and adjustments.
- Assist in credit analysis by evaluating customer creditworthiness and payment history.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies related to accounts receivable.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or Quicken for daily tasks.
- Perform regular reconciliations of accounts to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
Requirements
- Proficiency in corporate accounting principles and practices.
- Strong understanding of debits and credits, along with technical accounting skills.
- Experience with coding transactions accurately within accounting software.
- Familiarity with credit analysis techniques to assess customer risk levels.
- Ability to perform journal entries efficiently while maintaining compliance with financial regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail to manage multiple accounts effectively.
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with clients and internal teams.
