About the position

The High Volume Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for managing and processing a large volume of incoming payments, ensuring that all customer accounts are up-to-date and accurate, and maintaining strong relationships with clients regarding outstanding balances. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle high volumes of transactions accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Process high volumes of daily invoices, payments, and adjustments.
  • Post payments, credit memos, and adjustments to customer accounts in the accounting system.
  • Monitor and reconcile daily cash receipts, bank deposits, and credit card transactions.
  • Submitting invoices via EDI and customer portals.
  • Ensuring all invoices are posted correctly in customer's portals.
  • Monitor any EDI rejections and follow up with any corrections/modifications as needed.
  • Sending invoices and payment reminders to customers.
  • Maintaining customer master data.
  • Managing resale certificates and maintaining customer tax rates.
  • Issuing credits for sales tax, freight, deductions, returns.
  • Issue refunds for e-customers.
  • Posting payments including correct matching of prepayments to customer orders.
  • Work closely with customer service to ensure order entry accuracy.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closings by way of ensuring all transactions for current period are accurately recorded by given deadline.
  • Respond to customer and business unit requests in a prompt manner.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Accounting preferred, high school diploma required.
  • Minimum two (2) years' prior work experience.
  • Knowledge of the accounting implications related to accounts receivable.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Visual a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in order to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Detail-oriented and a willingness to ask questions when variances are identified.
  • Excellent organization skills.
