About the position

We are seeking an Accounts Receivable/Collections Clerk to join our team in the Stone/Glass/Concrete Manufacturing industry in Dixon, California. This temporary contract role involves ensuring accurate processing of customer payments, maintaining customer records, and managing collections of open balances. The position requires attention to detail and strong organizational skills to effectively handle various accounting tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately post customer payments in a timely manner.
  • Balance cash drawer and prepare daily bank deposits.
  • Review customer payment discrepancies and coordinate with branch personnel for resolution.
  • Make collection calls to customer AP departments to resolve outstanding balances.
  • Process Lien Releases as per customer requests.
  • Answer, handle, or route incoming phone calls to the credit office when required.
  • Assist in preparing information and documents for collection efforts.
  • Work with regional branches to provide credit releases daily.
  • Review and approve new customer account submissions/updates as needed.
  • Maintain electronic customer credit and correspondence files weekly.
  • Communicate effectively with internal parties such as regional branches or sales personnel.
  • Work on special projects and prepares reports as directed.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of duties and responsibilities.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Attend safety meetings and abide by all safety rules set forth by the company and governmental regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in Accounts Receivable and Collections within the Stone/Glass/Concrete Manufacturing industry is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation and Billing required.
  • Proficient in Cash Applications and Cash Collections.
  • Experience with Commercial Collections is necessary.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are required.
  • Familiarity with Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP is beneficial.
  • Must have strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks is essential.
  • Must have a high level of integrity and dependability.
