About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and processing incoming payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding accounts. This role requires a strong understanding of financial concepts and excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients regarding their accounts.

Responsibilities

• Process and record incoming payments accurately and efficiently.
• Perform account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues.
• Utilize financial software and accounting software for tracking payments and generating reports.
• Negotiate payment plans with customers when necessary.
• Collaborate with our stores to ensure accurate billing and collection processes.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries related to their accounts.
• Monitor aging accounts receivable reports and follow up on overdue accounts.

Requirements

• Proven experience in accounts receivable or a similar financial role is preferred.
• Strong understanding of debits and credits as they relate to accounts receivable management.
• Proficiency in using financial software and accounting software for data entry and reporting.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to negotiate effectively.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential for maintaining accurate records.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Microsoft Excel (1 year preferred).
• Customer service experience (1 year required).
