About the position

Ox Bodies, a subsidiary of Federal Signal, is seeking a dedicated Accounts Receivable professional to manage credit files, establish credit limits, and communicate with customers regarding payments. The role involves daily cash management, including reconciling bank deposits and updating cash receipt logs. The successful candidate will also participate in continuous improvement initiatives, support the Controller with general ledgers, and prepare monthly journal entries and reports. This position requires a high level of confidentiality and attention to detail while handling sensitive business information.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain credit files with applications, updates, exemption certificates and background information.
  • Establish credit limits by customer based on gathered information from historical experience, industry information, professional credit reporting services, and banking/personal references.
  • Communicate with customers to request payment and arrange payment plans.
  • Perform daily cash management, including reconciling bank deposits, updating cash receipt logs, and posting of cash to the Accounts Receivable sub-ledger.
  • Manage information related to cash applications and/or promised collection receipts while coordinating with the plant to ensure production orders are released accordingly.
  • Participate in continuous improvement by streamlining A/R processes.
  • Support the Controller in maintaining general ledgers and sub ledgers.
  • Prepare monthly journal entry calculations and various supporting spreadsheets.
  • Compile weekly and monthly Accounts Receivable reports.
  • Sustain confidentiality while handling sensitive business information.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work with large accounting/ERP systems. Syteline preferred.
  • Demonstrated research and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Communicate with impact and clarity to all levels of business partners.
  • Proven history of handling multiple tasks with accuracy.
  • Strong organization with high attention to detail.
