About The Position
COSCO SHIPPING LINES (North America) Inc. is seeking an Accounts Receivable Coordinator in Secaucus, NJ. This full-time position is essential for managing the accounts receivable functions within the company. The Accounts Receivable Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of tasks that ensure the smooth operation of the accounts receivable department. The role includes freight cashier functions such as processing freight releases, cash applications, and deposits. The coordinator will also handle billing, including the creation of third-party invoices upon receipt of payment, and will notify the import department for terminal releases when necessary. In addition to billing, the Accounts Receivable Coordinator will be responsible for managing income bank payments, which includes releasing cargo as requested. The role requires proficiency in wire transfer and ACA applications, as well as generating SAP reports. The coordinator will prepare refunds, manage checks and deposits, and handle collections for both credit and non-credit accounts, including any special requirements that may arise. The position also involves assisting with inbound cargo releases and managing outbound cashier functions, which include releasing documents via overnight mail or messenger service. Monitoring incoming payments for non-credit accounts is another critical responsibility, as is informing the documentation service to issue Telex Releases. The coordinator will also be involved in additional accounts receivable functions, including collections and special projects assigned by supervisors and managers. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience in ocean transportation is considered a plus.
