About the position

The Senior Production Technician at Ferrotec (USA) Corporation plays a crucial role within the Assembly Department, focusing on both repetitive and non-repetitive assembly tasks of precision electromechanical components. This position emphasizes the importance of product quality and the ability to build functional products with minimal rework. The technician will be responsible for performing analysis, testing, and support of electronics and circuits, fabricating and assembling electronic systems from blueprints, schematics, or sketches, and utilizing their knowledge of electronic systems and components to troubleshoot product designs and suggest or implement improvements. In addition to assembly tasks, the Senior Production Technician will conduct functional and operational tests to evaluate the performance and reliability of prototype or production models. Calibration checks on electronic instruments are also part of the role, along with collaborating with engineers to perform root cause and failure analysis as required. The technician is expected to maintain a strong commitment to quality and drive change within the organization, ensuring that objectives are met with a focus on excellence. The role requires a high level of skill and adaptability, as the technician will need to apply mastery in their area of specialization, adapt processes and techniques to meet special needs, and serve as a resource for others in resolving complex problems. The position operates under general supervision, relying on experience and judgment to accomplish assigned goals, and may involve orienting, training, and checking the work of lower-level employees. It is important to note that the duties may change without notice at management's discretion.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repetitive and non-repetitive assembly tasks of precision electromechanical components.
  • Conduct analysis, testing, and support of electronics and circuits.
  • Fabricate and assemble electronic systems from blueprints, schematics, or sketches.
  • Troubleshoot product designs and suggest or implement improvements.

  • Provide support to manufacturing operations.

Requirements

  • High School/Trade School diploma or equivalent.
  • 4-6 years of experience in a related field.
  • Experience in complex electrical assemblies.
  • Proficiency with oscilloscopes, multimeters, variable frequency drives, and servo motor controllers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and physical dexterity.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to learn.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Brushless DC motor experience.
