About the position

The Accounts Receivable Lead will oversee the accounts receivable activities within the Finance Department, ensuring efficient processing of payments and maintaining municipal financial records. This role emphasizes delivering excellent customer service while managing a team and ensuring compliance with city regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Accounts Receivable team, providing training and guidance while ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Manage license applications and renewals, ensuring compliance with city regulations.
  • Process utility management billings and maintain accounts receivable records.
  • Complete daily cash receipt reconciliations and prepare financial reports.
  • Use Microsoft Office, Caselle, and other city programs to complete tasks efficiently.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent, supplemented by two years of additional accounting training.
  • Four years of experience maintaining municipal financial records, processing payments, and providing direct customer service or six years of related experience with demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of utility billing processes and accounts receivable in a computerized accounting environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including word processing (Word), spreadsheets (Excel), and familiarity with the Caselle financial system.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous supervisory or lead worker experience.
  • Associate's Degree in accounting, finance, mathematics, or related field.
  • Experience in municipal billing departments and performing account reconciliations.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
