About the position

As the Accounts Receivable Manager at Anduril Industries, you will play a pivotal role in managing the financial aspects of our government and commercial contracts. This position is crucial for ensuring timely billing, reporting, and collection of costs incurred on these contracts. You will be part of a growing Government Accounting Team, where your contributions will directly impact the financial statements that are reviewed by various stakeholders within the company. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the preparation, processing, and submission of a variety of invoices, including cost reimbursable, time & material, and fixed-priced invoices, utilizing government portals and adhering to company policies. In this role, you will maintain billing schedules and forecasts to ensure timely invoice submissions and accurate cash collection reporting to company leadership. You will also be responsible for ensuring timely collections by managing the investigation, analysis, escalation, and resolution of invoice payments. Additionally, you will lead the maintenance and reconciliation of accounts receivable ledger accounts, financial statements, and reports on a monthly basis. Your expertise will be essential in forecasting cash collections and reporting Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) for all billing and collection efforts. You will assist with month-end close reconciliations and establish systems to streamline the government accounting process for travel and other expenses associated with government contracts. Identifying allowable versus unallowable costs in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) part 31 will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will also play an active role in government audits, maintaining organized contract invoicing files with supporting documentation for all invoices, and preparing various reports related to allowable and unallowable spending for both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the preparation, processing, and submission of a variety of cost reimbursable, time & material, and fixed priced invoices to customers using government portals and other methods as required by the contract, customer, and company policies.
  • Maintain billing schedules and forecasts to ensure timely invoice submissions and accurate cash collection reporting to company leadership.
  • Ensure timely collections through the management of investigating, analyzing, escalating, and resolving invoice payments.
  • Lead the maintenance and reconciliation of accounts receivable ledger accounts, financial statements, and reports on a monthly basis.
  • Responsible for cash collection forecast and Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) reporting for all billing and collection efforts.
  • Assist with month end close reconciliations.
  • Establish systems to streamline the government accounting process for travel and other expenses associated with government contracts.
  • Identify allowable vs. unallowable costs consistent with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) part 31.
  • Assist in the review of all expenses associated with projects and determine if they are reasonable in nature and follow all government accounting guidelines.
  • Play an active role in government audits and maintain accountability records to include organized contract invoicing files with supporting documentation for all invoices.
  • Prepare a variety of reports relative to unallowable and allowable spend for internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is preferred
  • 4+ years of government invoicing experience for contracts that contain FAR
  • 6+ years of accounts receivable experience
  • Experience with calculating cost vouchers for cost reimbursable and time & material contracts
  • Experience in developing and managing cash collection projections
  • Experience with financial accounting systems (Oracle, NetSuite)
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively across departments
