About the position

The Accounts Receivable Manager is responsible for overseeing the Billing and Collections department, ensuring efficient management of accounts receivable processes, and maintaining compliance with operational standards. This role involves training staff, analyzing performance metrics, and implementing procedural improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge of operational details in the Billing and Collections department.
  • Initiate modifications of procedural paperwork related to accounts receivable.
  • Meet with staff monthly to analyze A/R reports and collection statistics.
  • Perform weekly billing audits for timely and accurate processing.
  • Conduct detailed audits of Explanation of Benefits forms biweekly and present results to Executive Management.
  • Discuss difficult claims with Collections staff and provide solutions.
  • Train and oversee performance of Billing, Collections, and Verification staff.
  • Monitor overall workload and distribute work accordingly.
  • Maintain fee schedule and related files in the computer system.
  • Prepare quarterly fee/payment comparative reports.
  • Maintain carrier contract files and the Compliance Binder.
  • Complete credentialing applications as requested.
  • Seek ways to use technology to improve operational efficiency.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality following HIPAA Compliance Plan.
  • Attend meetings and perform additional duties as requested by Executive Management.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of management experience in a hospital or medical billing company setting.
  • Proven knowledge of Rev, CPT, and ICD-10 CM coding.
  • Integral knowledge of the A/R process.
  • Proven managerial success in analyzing A/R reports.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in accounting (1 year preferred).
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel (1 year preferred).
