About the position

The Accounts Receivable Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the entire accounts receivable process for a prestigious trucking and transportation company. This position involves managing a team of billing specialists, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, and working closely with the COO. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts receivable, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the billing process for delivered loads, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Verify and process paperwork from drivers, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Manage cash applications and collections efforts.
  • Supervise a team of 4 billing specialists.
  • Ensure invoices are paid and funds are deposited accurately, contacting customers regarding overdue invoices occasionally.
  • Handle complex billing issues and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Monitor customer requirements and ensure compliance with various billing portals.
  • Step in to back up the AP Manager as needed.

Requirements

  • 3-4+ years of progressive accounts receivable/billing experience.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Experience within the trucking industry is highly preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency.
  • Experience with Work Optima is preferred.
  • Experience with Sage is a plus.
  • Top-tier interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail; exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work onsite 100% at their office in Roanoke, VA.
