About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Accounts Receivable specialist to join our billing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the insurance Accounts Receivable processes, ensuring accuracy in medical records, and facilitating timely payments from insurance companies. The role also involves recognizing trends in reporting and communicating those trends to management for review.

Responsibilities

• Process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies.
• Review and verify patient information, including medical records and coding accuracy.
• Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to billing.
• Maintain organized records of all billing transactions and communications.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to obtain necessary documentation for claims processing.
• Assist in the collection of outstanding balances from patients as needed.

Requirements

• Proven experience in medical accounts receivable or a related field is required.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical records systems, and coding practices.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, insurance representatives, and healthcare staff.
• Proficiency in using medical office software and billing systems.
• Knowledge of medical collection processes is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical billing or coding is an advantage.
