About the position

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Representative: II (Intermediate) based in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota. This role is vital to our team, focusing primarily on the management and processing of customer invoicing, alongside other administrative duties. The Accounts Receivable Representative will be tasked with maintaining accurate customer records and resolving any discrepancies related to invoices. This position requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with customers to ensure timely payments. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounts receivable operations and be proficient in using relevant software programs for processing invoices and recording data. Additionally, the role involves providing backup support to the accounting team and engaging in project-based assignments as needed. Strong customer service skills are essential, as the representative will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong customer relationships through excellent service.

Responsibilities

  • Process customer credit applications with accuracy and efficiency
  • Maintain and update customer credit records on a regular basis
  • Resolve any discrepancies related to customer invoices
  • Utilize relevant software programs for processing invoices and recording data
  • Communicate effectively with customers to ensure timely payment of overdue invoices
  • Answer phone calls in a professional and friendly manner
  • Provide back-up support to the accounting team as needed
  • Engage in project-based assignments within the accounting team
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through excellent customer service
  • Exhibit proficiency in basic computer software such as the Microsoft Office Suite.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in handling Accounts Receivable (AR) operations.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suites and other software programs relevant to accounting functions.
  • Strong customer service skills with a knack for answering inbound calls in a professional manner.
  • Ability to process checks and manage overdrafts efficiently.
  • Exceptional skills in creating and managing customer invoices.
  • Experience in resolving discrepancies in accounts.
  • Good computer skills, with the ability to provide workstation support when necessary.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information clearly.
  • Proven ability to work in a professional manner, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with various accounting functions, including invoice and account receivables processing.
